When the Cows Come Home – Handmade Milk Soap

Description

This “from scratch” soap is made with cow milk from our own dairy farm. The soap is scented with oatmeal, milk and honey and has some colloidal oatmeal mixed in the soap for a very light exfoliation.

The soap is uncolored – the natural tan/beige color is a mix of the natural sugars in the milk and the fragrance.

INGREDIENTS

Coconut oil, olive oil, sustainably sourced palm oil, castor oil, lye, cow’s milk, colloidal oatmeal, fragrance.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Milk soaps are known for being very lathering and having high moisturizing properties. The raw milk used to make this soap has a high butterfat content, so it’s makes the bar more moisturizing than the typical whole milk you could get in the store.

“From scratch” soap is made with oils and then saponified with lye. No lye remains after the saponification process, instead you get a bar that’s totally unlike anything you can buy at the store.

To care for handmade soap, make sure you dry it thoroughly between uses and don’t leave it sitting in water. Always use a soap dish with a slotted bottom or, if you’re using a soap saver bag, leave it hanging in an open area to dry.

All fragrances used are phthalate free.
